CPI History
The Hartford Times - February 1962 Twenty-five parachute jumping enthusiasts have organized a club to promote competition, and safety, in their sport in Connecticut, as a means of continuing to enjoy it.
The first meeting of Connecticut Parachutists was held Feb. 15. Robert MacMillan was elected president. He has been jumping since 1927, has made over 1,200 jumps, and has had over 3,000 hours as a commercial pilot. He is a master rigger and is credited with making many changes and improvements in parachute design.
